Sudan: The crisis we can't look away from

Sudan is “one of the world's largest humanitarian crises, yet it is also one of its most overlooked,” said Derk Segaar, the IFRC's Special Envoy for Sudan, on 4 August 2026. The war entered its fourth year in April 2026, fought between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
